Will There Be Anyone Left in NYC a Year from Now

by Laura Steinberg

A question that has been on everyone’s mind for a while now is: will there be anyone left in NYC a year from now? With the left’s insane policies making it unbearable to live in the city, people are fleeing the area in droves.

There are several different sources making claims about how many people actually left New York City during the pandemic.

According to data from the U.S. Postal Service, a total of 333,386 people moved out of NYC from March to November of 2020.

Reporting from Reuters published in December of 2020 states: “About 3.57 million people left New York City this year between Jan. 1 and Dec. 7, according to Unacast, which analyzed anonymized cell phone location data. Some 3.5 million people earning lower average incomes moved into the city during that same period, the report showed.”

Even before the pandemic, New York City was a disaster.

Left-wing news outlet Forbes even had to admit there were serious issues with life in NYC. The outlet wrote:

“The costly living expenses, crumbling infrastructure and high tax rates are a big problem for residents. If you live in NYC, you are forced to pay exorbitant taxes. The schools, bridges, tunnels, trains, airports and hospitals are falling apart. Casually walk the streets of NYC and you’ll notice that they are crowded and dirty. It’s likely that you’ll see or be confronted by homeless people who clearly display symptoms of serious yet untreated mental or physical issues. The politicians running the city feel that it’s more humane to let them to live on the streets, as opposed to being treated in appropriate facilities. The crime rate has risen. To top off the misery, it’s cold and snowy in the winter and oppressively hot and humid in the summer.”

Now, the pandemic-era policies are making things much worse. Vaccine mandates are causing major job losses, and the Democrats are almost celebrating it, as if they don’t understand that the job losses will lead to increased homelessness, another mass exodus from the city, and worker shortages.

Radical leftist NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio recently gave an interview regarding the vaccine mandate for public school employees.

“If you have not have gotten that first dose Friday, 5 p.m., we will assume you are not coming to work on Monday and you will not be paid starting Monday and we will fill your role with a substitute or an alternative employee,” he said.

New York City’s decision to require hospitals and nursing homes to fire unvaccinated staff is also going to have serious consequences. According to National Review, thanks to the mandate, hospitals and nursing homes will soon be required to fire 8 percent of their staff, while adult-care facilities will have to fire 11 percent of their staff.

NYC is becoming a tyrannical authoritarian state, and is pushing out anyone who even slightly disagrees with the leftist narrative. As they continue down this path, how long will it take before the city is empty?
