Rand Paul just destroyed Joe Biden’s most controversial nominee with one reality check

Joe Biden nominated the most radical and unqualified slate of cabinet nominees any American can ever remember.

But one nominee stood out from the pack.

And Rand Paul just destroyed Joe Biden’s most controversial nominee with one reality check.

Joe Biden nominated former Pennsylvania top health official Rachel Levine to serve as the assistant secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Levine is a controversial nominee on many fronts.

Senator Paul honed in on Levine – who is a biological male – over his support for allowing minor children to undergo sex change operations and take puberty blocking drugs.

“Dr. Levine, do you believe that minors are capable of making such a life-changing decision as changing one’s sex?” Senator Paul asked Levine.

“Transgender medicine is a very complex and nuanced field with robust research,” Levine shot back.

Senator Paul would not accept that as an answer.

Paul pressed Levine a second time about if he supported the government overruling a parent’s objection to their child undergoing a sex change operation or taking puberty blocking drugs.

“Do you support the government intervening to override a parent’s consent to give a child puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and/or amputation surgery of breasts or genitalia?” Senator Paul asked a second time.

Levine robotically repeated the answer about how transgender medicine is “nuanced.”

At that point Senator Paul had enough and demanded his rebuke of Levine for not answering the question be placed into the official record.

“Let it go to the record that the witness refused to answer the question,” Senator Paul responded.

Levine’s non-answers on if minors should be allowed to undergo sex change operations is not the only controversial aspect of this nomination.

Last spring, Levine’s 95 year-old mother was removed from a personal care home after the state of Pennsylvania mandated that nursing homes take in coronavirus patients.

But it was Senator Paul’s questions that drew praise from many on the Right and condemnation from many on the Left.
