CNBC Host Calls Pelosi “Crazy Nancy” In Her Face During Live Interview

CNBC anchor Jim Cramer used Trump’s nickname for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, “Crazy Nancy,” while speaking to her during an interview on his show Tuesday morning.

Cramer and the California Democrat were discussing long-stalled coronavirus aid negotiations when he used the irreverent moniker in an attempt to show how conservatives and the Trump administration are engaging in the negotiations.

He appeared surprised when Pelosi said she’s optimistic about a deal.

“I thought I’d take it right off the table, right here, this very minute. Mark Meadows going saying he was the skunk at the party … He’s got in the way between you and I think [Treasury] Secretary Mnuchin. What deal can we have, Crazy Nancy? I’m sorry, that was the president. I have such reverence for the office. I would never use that term,” Cramer said.

Nancy Pelosi called him out with a laugh, saying, “But you just did.” Cramer responded, “Oh, come on. You know what I mean …The reverence I have for the office is so great that I think it’s a travesty to ever call — look, you spent your whole life in public service.”

The speaker added, “Let me just say this. Anything the president says is a rejection of his own insecurities. He calls other people crazy because he knows he is. He complains about this, that, and the other thing because he knows his own shortcomings. He’s a master of projection. So any time he says something, you say, ‘Uh-oh, that’s what he’s thinking of himself.’”

Democrats and Republicans have been unable to reach a deal on a new round of federal aid this summer. The House planned to adjourn from early October until after the election so members could focus on their races, but Nancy Pelosi told her colleagues this week that they should be prepared to stay in town until a new deal has been passed.
