A Republican Senator made an apology that will have you rolling your eyes

by David Lindfield

Republican voters got some bad news.

They learned their elected officials refused to learn the lesson of Donald Trump.

And now this Republican Senator made an apology that will have you rolling your eyes.

Oklahoma Republican James Lankford was all set to be one of the Senators who filed an objection to the Electoral College results in Pennsylvania to give Trump supporters a chance to have their concerns about the state illegally changing mail-in voting laws debated.

But after the riot at the Capitol, Lankford withdrew his objection.

Lankford went a step further and wrote a letter of apology to the residents of North Tulsa admitting to the left-wing smear that challenging the Electoral College results was an attack on black Americans voting rights.

“What I did not realize was all of the national conversation about states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, was seen as casting doubt on the validity of votes coming out of predominantly Black communities like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Detroit,” Lankford wrote.

Lankford cited the riot in Tulsa in 1921 where white supremacists massacred black residents of what was known as “Black Wall Street.”

“After decades of fighting for voting rights, many Black friends in Oklahoma saw this as a direct attack on their right to vote, for their vote to matter, and even a belief that their votes made an election in our country illegitimate,” Lankford continued.

“I can assure you, my intent to give a voice to Oklahomans who had questions was never also an intent to diminish the voice of any Black American.”

Apologizing to the mob never leads to acceptance and forgiveness.

Instead, when the outrage mob senses weakness they double down.

And that is exactly what happened to Lankford as Democratic State Representative Monroe Nichols called for Lankford to be removed from the 1921 Race Massacre Centennial Committee.

The Left claims every effort to guarantee the security and integrity of elections amounts to racially motivated “voter suppression”.

By his actions Senator Lankford foolishly fell for the Democrats’ trap.

Renewed Right will keep you up-to-date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
