CNN rarely has conservatives on the air.
There is a reason for that.
And a black Republican showed why when he dropped the hammer on this CNN host with this one truth bomb.
Joe Biden dropped jaws when he stated on a popular African American radio program during the 2020 campaign “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
Well Florida Republican Congressman Byron Donalds is a first-term lawmaker and a strong supporter of Donald Trump.
The 42 year-old Donalds requested to join the Congressional Black Caucus and got turned down.
They may be Joe Biden’s lakeys but you can almost guarantee the Congressional Black Caucus would have rejected Donalds simply for being a Republican.
The group has allowed only a handful of Republicans in since its founding.
Donalds appeared for an interview on CNN’s “New Day” by co-host and Democrat Party activist Brianna Keilar.
In the interview, Donalds told Keilar that he wanted to join the Congressional Black Caucus to share his unique perspective on how to help black Americans prosper.
“I have a perspective being a 42-year-old black man who has come up in America after a lot of the battles through the civil rights movement that I think would be helpful and a helpful perspective to the CBC,” Donalds explained.
Keilar responded by claiming that Donalds support for election integrity bills is what disqualified him by falsely claiming they would suppress the vote.
“You say this will increase access for voters of color, for African-Americans. That’s just not true. There have been analyses, multiple done, including by the Houston Chronicle looking at the bill specifically in Texas, including by The Washington Post looking at these bills writ large. They’re not going to increase access for voters of color. They’re going to decrease access,” Keilar shot back.
Donalds tried to respond, but the white Keilar then played clips of Donald Trump and demanded to know why a black man like Donalds could support Trump.
That’s when Donalds dropped the hammer on Keilar by retorting that he isn’t required to think one way just because he was a black man.
“Please don’t cut me off. I have not cut you off in this interview. Please do not do that to me. Thank you. As a black man in America, I’m allowed to have my own thoughts on who I choose to support and who I choose not to support,” Donalds said.
But Democrats from the Congressional Black Caucus, to Joe Bien to the hosts at CNN don’t agree.
Donalds was scheduled for an interview with Chris Cuomo later that night, but after Donalds shut down Keilar it was not surprising to see CNN cancel the booking.
